Denise Hayden is a native Hoosier and has been practicing family law for over thirty (30) years. Denise has frequently been asked to serve as a judge pro tem when the presiding judge in not available. Denise is a registered domestic relations mediator. Denise also serves as a guardian ad litem representing children in both private and volunteer cases. After years of advocating for her family law clients, Denise has scaled back her practice to focus primarily on mediation, guardian ad litem, and appellate work.
Denise is a frequent speaker and panelist for continuing legal education programs. Denise also volunteers as a Guardian Ad Litem for Kids’ Voice of Indiana and is a former Board member for the organization. Denise was awarded the Family Law Section Award in 2016 by the Indianapolis Bar Association. Denise is a member of the Hancock Couty Bar Association and the Indianapolis Bar Association. In addition, Denise volunteers for the Indiana Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program (JLAP).
When not working, Denise enjoys reading, spending time with family, cheering on Indiana University, IndyCar racing, and staying out of prison.
